Lita Rossana Ford was a British-born American guitarist, vocalist and music writer. The latter half of the 1970s she was the lead guitar for the hard-rocking all-girl band The Runaways. Although the band was not success on the scene in The United States, it gained immense popularity in the world. Ford started her own heavy-metal career after the disbandment of her group in 1979. Her debut album as a solo artist was 'Dancin' on the Edge, followed by her record Out for Blood. Ford's albums were not very popular and she went on hiatus for a couple of years. She returned with a bang in 1988 with her wildly successful album 'Lita which was released in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly (single) as well as Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were among her greatest hit songs. Unfortunately her popularity was only short-lived, and she disappeared for several years. The resurgence of her career came with releases of "Black" from 1995 as well as "Wicked Wonderland", almost fifteen years later. in 2016, the most recent album'Time Capsule' was released. Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
